Compact NFC integration with two included antennas
The PN7160 MINI V1 — I2C is a compact 13.56 MHz NFC module based on the NXP PN7160. A six-pin host connector carries power, I2C, interrupt and enable/reset signals, while interchangeable external antennas let you choose the size that suits your enclosure.
Each kit includes the module plus both a 50 × 40 mm antenna and a 25 × 10 mm antenna, each with a 10 cm lead. A six-pin host cable is not included.
Key features
- NFC-A/B/F/V support, including ISO/IEC 14443, ISO/IEC 15693, FeliCa and MIFARE workflows.
- Reader/writer and card-emulation applications, subject to controller firmware and host software support.
- I2C host interface with IRQ and VEN; 100 kHz or 400 kHz recommended.
- 3.3-5.5 V module power input and 3.3 V digital signals.
- Default 7-bit I2C address 0x28; solder pads ADR0 and ADR1 select 0x28-0x2B.
- 26.937 × 20.066 mm PCB with three mounting holes.
- Shared ELECHOUSE Arduino library and Mini-specific ESP32-S3 setup guide.

Reading-performance reference
| Antenna size | MIFARE S70 | ISO/IEC 15693 | Availability |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 × 10 mm | 2.9 cm | 6.5 cm | Included |

Maximum reading distances measured at 5 V using the ST1.0 antenna connection and a 10 cm antenna lead, with the card parallel to the antenna. Test cards: MIFARE S70 85 × 55 mm PVC and ICODE SLIX2 ISO/IEC 15693 85 × 55 mm. Values are reference measurements, not guaranteed minimum distances; card type, alignment, nearby metal and the final enclosure affect performance.
Connection and software
Use a 3.3 V logic host. The six-pin connector is ordered 1 SDA, 2 SCL, 3 IRQ, 4 VEN, 5 VCC, 6 GND; the dot identifies Pin 1. For an ESP32-S3 example, use SDA GPIO8, SCL GPIO9, IRQ GPIO4 and VEN GPIO5, as described in the Quick Start.
Use the same ELECHOUSE PN7150/PN7160 Arduino library as the standard PN7160 module, with this Mini module’s wiring. Select the matching 3.3 V or 5 V power preset in the software. The Mini Quick Start shows the normal DetectTags example at 400 kHz.
Connect only one antenna at a time. The ST1.0 connection is recommended. With IPEX4, longer coaxial leads can reduce reading distance. Keep the antenna away from metal where practical and check performance in the finished enclosure.
